It has been a while since I last posted an entry in this blog. This is primarily because I got too much involved in chess activities for me and my son recently. But today I will take some time will update a few things that were in my mind for a while to do. I bought Honda Pilot Touring 2014 at April 9th from Kastner Honda at Napa Valley . My wife was looking for the blue color which we couldn't find earlier in bay area. I went through true.com to get internet rates and finally got the color and price matching fine in Napa. Shahriar drive me in a weekday and we bought and drive back the car! In the meantime, I got involved a bit with Bay Area Bangladesh Association (BABA) and we delivered our first cultural program of the year in March 29th bring Mila from Bangladesh for a Live Concert. I was quite relaxed for this President's day long weekend as we have finished a major project development work recently in office. So last Friday night I, Shusmita, Ahyan and Amin went to watch the late night to show of Karan Johar's My Name Is Khan in Big Cinema of Fremont (formerly Naz8). Once we came back to the car parking after the show at 2 AM and saw my front passenger's window are broken into pieces. Ah well, our car luck is not going good! Although I have insurance and I took care of the police report, ultimately the out of pocket $500 is an unnecessary cost on top of the recent parking tickets we got. We were planning for a long drive to Napa or highway one this Sunday but we had to skip it as we can't drive the car with the broken glasses. Hence I made the glass replacement done and also did a comprehensive interior wash of the car to get rid of all the small glass pieces out of it. After a month of my Civic being completely destroyed in a car accident, I bought my new car yesterday. It's Honda Accord 2009 LX-P Maroon Color that I bought from Autowest Honda of Fremont . I have shopped around for car in Toyota and Honda. While Toyota Camry 2010 is also a very good car, somehow we ended up liking Accord. Whlile in Accord you feel the road and the power behind the car more, for Camry it's the smoothness of driving experience. Shusmita didn't want to even go for a test drive of Hyundai Sonata although that is also a comparable car at a cheaper price. I guess we are so used to our Honda Civic that only another Honda car would have been able to psychologically match our unknown requirements. I gave a four thousand dollars down payment and the rest my dealer financed me from American Honda Finance. We were in a fine mood while coming back from LA back to San Francisco Bay Area last Sunday (28th June) night through highway 5 before we encountered an accident. We all are alive with no major injuries apparently. The car rolled a few times to avoid a hit & run in the interstate 5 and ended up landing in the side of road breaking almost all the areas of the car except where Shusmita and Ahyan were sitting. We had our early dinner in Aladin sweets that night buying fishes, soups and after driving around 100+ miles on the way home, Shusmita took the car from me as Ahyan was already sleeping by that time. She has been giving me some handy breaks in long drives for last few months. This time also she took it as a routine and I don't think she could do anything better to avoid this accident.
