Thought# 1 - Adam Smith's Invisible Hand

The notion behind Adam Smith's Invisible Hand is that individuals' efforts to pursue their own interest may frequently benefit society more than if their actions were directly intending to benefit society. In general, the term invisible hand can apply to any individual action that has unplanned, unintended consequences, particularly those that arise from actions not orchestrated by a central command, and that have an observable, patterned effect on the community.

So with that in mind, should we try to be selfish? :D
